— ୨ৎ wearing lingerie for ellie . nsfw . wc : 1.5k
Tumblr media
you walk into the room, purposely swaying your hips more than usual and keeping your head held high. your pink silky robe followed your movements, acting as a shadow.
ellie’s back is turned and hunched over her desk, sketching away another drawing of you. she doesn’t notice you’re in the room, her ears being filled with some shitty 80’s rock band. it’s only until you give her a light tap on the shoulder she lifts her head up to look at you.
her pupils dilate at the sight. your robe is slightly off your shoulder, giving her a peek at the alluring red set underneath. “oh shit. fuck babe,” her words come out faster and more jumbled than intended. it feels like all the air has been stolen from her and it’s been replaced with the urge to please you.
a seductive smirk is plastered onto your face. moving one foot in front of the other until you’re settled atop ellie’s lap. you lean forward, your lips barely grazing her ear. “wore this just for you, els.” putting on your best sultry voice. apparently it was a success because her face starts to heat up and her hands become clammy.
“oh man, you— you look so good. can i touch you, please?” her hands hover above your waist, aching to feel your skin against hers. you notice how her eyes dart from your face to your cleavage, giving her a perfect view thanks to the dark red lace trim and the push up.
you let her question hang in the air for a bit. relishing in the way she becomes more desperate with each passing moment, like she’ll snap if she doesn’t get an answer soon. your finger trails up and down her forearm, tracing over her tattoo and watching her shiver from your touch. for a second, both of your eyes meet. you know you needed this just as bad as she did, so why wait?
“of course.”
her hands planted onto you, and her lips crashed into yours. the kiss was messy filled with hunger, desire, and lust. her hands scrambled to your robe, desperate to push it off. a light chuckle left your lips when she didn’t undo the knot in front.
“shit, why’s it not coming off— oh.” she looks down to see the tightened half knot sitting at your waist. “sorry babe, just needed to see you. i-i’ll get it off.”
another giggle comes out, moving your head to plant wet kisses all along her neck. you notice her hips slightly bucking up and all efforts to undo the knot has stopped. a wave of control washes over you, wanting to get ellie to obey every word that leaves your lips. “get it off then. i didn’t say you could stop.”
she lets out a graveled, low ‘fuck’ but it’s quickly replaced with a high pitch whimper — feeling your teeth nibble at her neck. “yeah, sorry. you’re right i’ll, i’ll get it off.”
sounds of silk rustling and ellie’s whines fill the room, but after a few moments it’s off. she could drool at the sight, well, unless she already is. the deep red lingerie set has bows along the straps and ruffles lining the bottom half off the top piece.
a carnal need washes over her. the grip on your waist is more firm and tighter than before and her half-lidded eyes darken, filled with unspoken dominance. before you can fully register what’s happening, she lifts you effortlessly from her lap. your arms loop around her neck, fingers digging in as she holds you up with ease, her hands firm under your thighs. she carries you to the bed, spreading your legs apart as she steps back to admire the sight.
her gaze lingers for a moment before she turns to the nightstand, pulling open the bottom drawer with purpose. her fingers wrap around a red phallic toy, its length adorned with soft pink hearts along the veins. with practiced ease, she secures the strap, buckling everything into place like second nature before returning to you—eyes dark, body tense with anticipation.
she returns back to you, watching your fingers glide up and down your body, waiting so patiently for her. she climbs into the bed with you, keeping eye contact and watching your every move. her face comes up to yours, breath tickling your ear. “gonna fuck you so good, so hard. can’t wait to ruin this pretty fucking pussy, baby.”
the words shoot straight to your core, creating a pool of arousal in your panties. her hand trails down to your hip, snapping the fabric against your skin. “do-don’t tease, els please.” you mewl, giving her a pouty expression. she tuts, her fingers trailing from your hip right to your clit moving her fingers in a circular motion against it.
“you’re right baby. look at you, all dolled up for me. just let me take my time with you, kay?” her voice is firm and condescending, clearly trying to force you into submission. you reply with nothing but a weak nod and a whimper. she smiles at that, satisfied with your obedience.
she lifts up and pulls your hips toward her, your cunt perfectly aligned with her faux cock. “so pretty love, what am i gonna do with you?” she thinks aloud, her thumb playing with your clit before going down towards your slit. she notices the wet spot forming, how your folds are basically visible through the laced fabric. “oh baby, is this all for me?”
you give her another weak nod, which earns you a slap on the cunt. “words. give me words.”
“y-yes, it’s all for you, els.”
“good fuckin girl.” her fingers loop around waistband, pulling it down and leaving your bottom half exposed. she groans at the sight and watches at your legs spreading wider for her.
she takes your leg in hand, bringing it up to her lips and planting soft kisses. her free hand takes her strap and coats it in your slick. admiring the way your hole clenches around nothing each time her tip hits your clit.
a string of whines fill the room when she pushes in, feeling every inch of her stuff you. you claw at her chest but she just takes your hands and pins them above your head. “mm, mm sweetheart, you gonna take this. gonna fuck you nice and good jus’ like i said, yeah?”
her words become nothing but background noise to you, too focused on the way her cock slides in and out. constantly hitting that spot inside that makes you see literal stars.
her thrusts are slow at first, deliberate and deep, making sure you feel her stretching you open. she watches your face contort in pleasure, eyes rolling back, mouthing hanging open. it’s such a pornographic sight it could damn near win an oscar.
“fuck baby, you’re taking me so well,” she groans, putting both of your wrists in one hand. her free hand trails down, passing your stomach and to your waist. “so tight around me, this pretty pussy was just made for me, huh?”
you barely manage to give her a nod, words are absolutely impossible at this point. your back arches off the mattress chasing the friction, desperate for more. her head dips down to catch your lips in an open - mouthed, messy kiss.
“ellie— please, more,” you whimper against her lips, thighs shaking around her waist.
“yeah? need more, baby?” she shifts her angle, grabbing both your thighs and pushing it to your chest. the new position sends a wave of pleasure through you. if it was deep before, you could damn near feel her in your stomach now.
your nails dig into her biceps and it forms waxing crescents on her arm. she groans at the feeling, loving how wrecked you’re becoming under her. “oh look at you,” she coos, pressing wet kisses down your neck. sucking and biting to mark her space. “so fuckin’ pretty when you’re falling apart for me.”
her pace becomes relentless, her hips slamming into yours with an unforgiving pace. it makes your head spin, every other thought another than ellie becomes a blur. she brings a hand down to your clit, moving her thumb in messy circles over it and that’s what got the coil in your stomach to snap.
“oh, shit, oh ellie, ellie i’m c-cumming!”
the band snaps. pleasure crashes over you in waves, a broken moan tearing from your throat. your body trembles beneath her, your walls pulsing around her cock.
her finger works at your overstimulated clit but her thrusts come to a slower speed. “damn baby, that was fuckin’ hot.” a breathless laugh leaves her lips, watching your body language for any signs of pain.
but you don’t give her any. your body flushed with the bed, chest rapidly rising and falling in an attempt to catch your breath. she leans down to give you a kiss, without her knowing the new angle makes her dick plunge deeper into you. your body jerks at the sensation, a whimper escaping you as you try to squirm away. “t-too much, els.”
“yeah?” she husks, holding your hips firm and still. “but i know you can give me one more.”

I've been a pretty harsh critic of Dr. Friedman and Polygon's general Critical Role coverage in the past, and while I think her latest article for them critiquing Campaign 3 is a fairly good one, it does in many ways cast an even harsher light on her kid-gloves handling of D20 and WBN. However, I want to talk about these two excerpts, because I think she hits on something I've increasingly noticed in Actual Play:
"This is where Critical Role’s strength — that Exandria often feels like a real, complex world — collided with the needs of a D&D campaign (a clear adversary, clear plans of action, forward momentum)."
and
"But the confused way D&D handles religion and divinity — polytheism as imagined by midwestern American Protestants — turned the question of how to handle this particular cosmic horror into a glue trap, paralyzing the players for dozens of hours of circular existential debates. Gods once mechanized (or digestible) become just another power bloc, and for players used to a system where in the end you are “basically gods,” the line gets blurrier still. And as D&D’s messy cosmology added friction to much of the campaign, D&D’s mechanics also don’t have the necessary friction for the interpersonal beats that make Critical Role compelling."
I agree with both these statements, as someone who, to be clear, enjoys D&D 5e. D&D supports a range of narratives, but all are ultimately a story of gaining power and fighting off or through a series of adversaries; if your characters are not doing that, it raises the question of why you picked a system that gives you few other options. (This is also, I should note, an increasingly loud question when it comes to Worlds Beyond Number; I fell behind for personal reasons after the Coven arc, but Brennan's initial statements about D&D as scaffolding were perhaps too true; almost every interesting mechanic, in a game with minimal combat that has thus far felt primarily focused on how the three protagonists have fundamentally different adversaries, has been homebrewed, to the point where the cosmology and baggage of D&D has felt like a liability rather than an asset).
D&D also has, in part due to such programs as D20, developed a reputation for being world-agnostic, and that ultimately isn't true. D&D does struggle to make the lines between "real divinity", an archfey or similarly powerful entity, and a L20 character feel sharply defined on a mechanical level; once you give a god a stat block, it can be killed (and on a metanarrative level, revealing the gods' statblocks in Downfall serves to make them both immense, yet also more fragile. The hit points are many, but still finite.) There are a number of questions most D&D worlds simply fail to address - and to be clear, this is not a flaw provided you have buy in. A level 2 warlock in D&D is, in most societies, an one-person lethal force unless the entire town swarms them at once, knowing that many of them will lose their lives in the effort; a level 2 warlock PC, however, is almost never, in-world, treated this way, and indeed is framed as an underdog in a harsh world despite usually having the ability to destroy the entire tavern.
D&D has also developed a (not undeserved) reputation as being The Dominant TTRPG put out by a massive corporation, and has developed a (not deserved) reputation as being itself uniquely problematic as a power fantasy, particularly by people who conveniently forget where Pathfinder came from. I've previously covered that, for all people demand non-D&D actual play, the viewership drops precipitously whenever a big AP show that made its name with D&D dares to branch out, and, related to that, I've seen an uptick in people who are excited for D&D to subvert itself. They wanted Campaign 3 to subvert these norms of divinity and heroic fantasy, cheered for it...and ultimately it was unable to do so. I don't think it's accurate to say that D&D's lack of interpersonal mechanics was the problem here, given that Campaigns 1 and 2 (and again, D20) have no such issue; but rather that since D&D's lack of interpersonal/RP mechanics require more effort from the players to initiate, the debates on the nature of divinity in a world and system that could not sustain them sapped any energy for the late-night watch conversations D&D can support when you're not fighting against it.
I think one of the many lessons we can learn from Critical Role Campaign 3 is that if you go up against D&D with an attempt to destroy it from within, your story will instead find itself conforming to the shape of its container, often to its detriment.

How Far Away? Part 7
Caleb x Mc
Tags: unplanned pregnancy, presumed death, depression, miscommunication, miscarriage scare
Summary: Mc and Caleb fight right before he goes on a long mission into space. Caleb ends up MIA while Mc finds out she's pregnant. She struggles to deal with the grief while Caleb is fighting for his life to make it back home to her.
AO3
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9
Caleb awoke to a very dry mouth and a pounding head.
It felt like a really nasty hangover and he had had plenty of those back in flight school. His memory was hazy for the moment so he wondered how much he had drank to feel like this.
He stretched his arm out and met the cool metal of some sort of rail.
What is this? He blearily opened his eyes and focused on his surroundings. A window with ugly green curtains, a wall full of cabinets and drawers, a small sink, a patterned curtain in front of the door, then the machines.
The pain in his arm made him hiss as he moved the wrong way. There was a needle and a tube in his arm, he followed it up to a bag full of liquid dripping down the tube.
Oh, it’s a hospital. Now it’s coming back to him, the shouting, the frantic energy of nurses and doctors trying to keep his heart beating.
He knew this hospital, it was Willow Medical Center in Skyhaven. How did he end up here?
The worst hangover he’d ever felt and it was no wonder. A few weeks of constant evol use on low food and not drinking as much water as he should have.
A recipe for disaster but he was here, he was alive.
It was dark from what he could see through the curtains drawn over the window. Other than the pounding in his head and dry mouth, he was otherwise uninjured.
His crew had actually gotten him safely out of the deepspace tunnel.
A warm feeling in his chest made him cough in embarrassment.
They had somehow gotten him out of the Fleet’s clutches, away from Ever’s influence to a safe place.
All that effort he had expended in getting them home must have left them feeling indebted to him.
He was very grateful for it, if he had been left to Ever’s clutches. They would’ve fixed his chip and taken advantage of his weakened state to upgrade him even more. Sinking their slimy fingers even more into whatever individuality he had left.
He’d worked so hard to fight the chip, it was at 50% integrity now and going down without a fight wasn’t an option.
His crew deserved something in return as thanks but he’d have to think on that more.
Where was his stuff? Only dressed in a hospital gown without a stitch of anything else, Caleb felt very exposed.
Oh there’s his stuff, a neat pile on the side table. His phone off to the side of his clothes.
Caleb really wanted to see her face, even if it was through a picture. Cell phones glitched weirdly in the deepspace tunnel, so he usually relied on his memory and the hidden photo in his pocket to keep her with him.
Then a nurse came bustling in, keeping the light low, he could see a clock behind the curtain she had just pulled aside.
2 am, well, not the worst time to be alive.
The nurse noticed he was up, looking a little shocked before recovering.
“Hello Colonel, how are you feeling?”
He grimaced
“My head has a band playing inside it and I really need some water.”
“Well, I can go and get water for you right now, I’ll send a note to the doctor to put in an order for some pain medication too. Okay?”
“Right.”
“I actually came in to grab some blood for labs, we need to make sure all of your levels are normal now.”
“Go ahead.”
She quickly took out her butterfly needle along with a few vials, sanitizing his arm and quickly drawing blood out.
Snapping her gloves off, she asked
“Anything else I can get you?”
“Can I have my phone from that table?”
“Oh sure, here you go!”
After handing Caleb his phone, she went back out into the hallway. Hopefully to return with water and something for this headache.
There was a universal charging cord attached to the hospital bed for his convenience. Plugging it in, it only took a minute to boot back up.
He saw the day, the fact that it was still a few days shy of his original return date made him a bit relieved.
That is, until he saw the slew of messages from her.
100’s of them, his phone kept going off and it felt like it was going buzz its way out of his grip.
What in the world?
Caleb was very concerned now, she almost never sent him this many. Not while he was gone and couldn’t respond.
Very worried at this point, he opened the earliest message.
Watching it left him in a daze, her bright smile seared into his mind as she had proudly proclaimed that you were pregnant.
Pregnant with his baby?!
He sat in astonishment for just a minute before it really hit him.
Caleb was going to be a father!
He eagerly opened each message after that.
All her cute little complaints about being sick, wanting food but not being able to eat it, her pants not fitting.
The weight loss did indeed worry him but he was reassured just seeing the way she struggled to wear pants now.
Hearing about stealing his clothes made him a bit feral to be honest but also stoked his male pride.
Then Caleb got to the point where she showed him the newest ultrasound, the little bean had little arms and legs now.
He stared at the image for a long while, the heartbeat of his child, his little baby, in the background.
All the joy came to a halt as the love of his life’s crying face came into view.
He had been pronounced MIA and presumed dead?
Oh no.
He noticed the background was now only showing her at his house in all the videos after that, her eyes hollow, her face limp, only the thought of their baby keeping her going.
He clenched his fist, the one that could punch through walls to get to you.
Caleb desperately wanted to call her now, but he didn’t want to do it over the phone. Not to mention that it was still the middle of the night.
He played the next few videos, his heart breaking as his love’s decline was put on display for a man that she thought was dead.
The last video though, it was only yesterday that it was sent.
Oh, oh now he wanted to rip the building apart.
Zayne, that sly bastard swooping in as soon as he smelt blood in the water.
Trying to take advantage of a grieving woman.
The confusion, the phone was laid down as he heard faintly, is that blood.
The word blood made his own run cold.
She was hurt? No, something worse as sobs came over the phone.
“Please don’t let me lose you, you’re all I have left of Caleb. Please baby, just stay with me!”
Desperate pleas came over the phone before the camera was back in her face, utterly wrecked as the video ended.
What the hell?
That’s how it ends?
He needed to leave now.
He started to rip the IV out of his arm and the nurse came back in, carrying a packet and a cup of water.
“What are you doing?!”
“I’m leaving!”
“You haven’t been cleared yet!”
“I’m going and you can’t stop me.”
He stood up and towered over her. The nurse shrank a bit before standing firm.
“Why?”
“You don’t need to know.”
“I do if you’re going to leave AMA! You were in bad shape when you first came in. You’re still recovering.”
“She needs me and I’m going!”
“Wait she?”
He grimaces at the slip before spitting
“Yes, she needs me, there’s something wrong happening and I need to be there.”
“Maybe I can help.”
He stared at the small woman before shrugging.
“If you can tell me what hospital she went to, sure.”
“Are you referring to the woman listed as your emergency contact?”
“Yes.” He grits out impatiently.
She goes to the monitor in the corner of the room and looks at few pages before pulling something up.
“You’re in luck, she’s here in the labor and delivery ward.”
“Great, I’m leaving.”
She stops him with a hand to his chest.
“What is it now?” Snarling at the interruption.
“You can go, but in a wheelchair.”
So thus, Caleb is rolled all the way from intensive care all the way to L and D.
She had bandaged his arm up from where he’d ripped the IV out, he hadn’t even noticed it bleeding.
The nurse asks the night nurse working where she is and they’re directed to a room at the end of the hall.
He’s wheeled through the door and there she was.
Sleeping, looking so small and weary even in the dim light.
The nurse whispers
“I’ll have to go back but just hit the call light if you need anything, ok?”
He nods but doesn’t dare disturb the peace of the room with his voice.
But as the nurse leaves, he’s desperate to touch you.
So he pushes the chair forward by the wheels until he’s by her side. Caleb can now see something miraculous.
A baby bump, a true proof of their love.
Were they okay though? There was no one to ask, but he spies a chart at the end of the bed.
Grabbing it eagerly, he reads
‘Patient presented with mild bleeding at 18 weeks of pregnancy. Scans done and slight placental abruption was found. Mildly invasive procedure done to correct issue. Patient to be kept under observation for 24 hours.’
A very short summary of the situation but it was enough.
The baby, their sweet baby, and her were going to be okay.
Shoulders shaking as a few tears escaped his eyes as he laid a gentle hand on their child.
“Hello little one, I’m your daddy. I’m sorry I haven’t been here so far but don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere.”
A slight bump against his hand and he was instantly in love.
Caleb wanted to scoop them both up and never let them go. His two loves in his arms forever.
A slight noise behind him made him turn his head from the beautiful sight.
Zayne.
His gut tightened.
“What are you doing here?” Caleb tried to keep his voice low but the protectiveness came through.
Zayne pushed his glasses up before answering
“They called me here to check on her heart and so that she’d have a member of her care team here. She couldn’t make it all the way down to Akso hospital so her OB told her to go to Skyhaven’s hospital for now.”
What a perfectly reasonable explanation but he’d heard what Zayne had been doing while he was away.
“You sure move fast Dr.Zayne.”
A raised eyebrow was the only response he got.
“She’s not yours.” Caleb made that clear with a growl.
“From what I hear, she wasn’t truly yours either. Scared of commitment, colonel?”
“That will soon be rectified so you can butt out.”
“Fortunately for you, she told me to butt out before you even came home. I have no plans to stay where I’m not wanted.”
“Good.” The baby bumped against Caleb’s hand again, making him smile.
“But if she needs me again, don’t think I won’t come running.”
With that ominous warning given, Zayne turned around and left the room.
Well, at least that’s done. Where does Zayne get off telling him that though?
She was more important than that sly bastard anyway and Caleb settled in to stay with her until she woke up.
He knew he had to take care of Ever somehow, he had been steadily wearing the chips integrity down so that they wouldn’t have hold over him anymore. It seemed that it was time to move the timeline up.
His two babies deserved him at his best and without these shackles.
He could wait for her eyes to open though. They had a lot to talk about after all.

Deeva Årud - Room Relaxation Voice Lines
Since I don’t really celebrate my birthdays, a relaxed plan like this is more than enough for me.
Summon Line: These moments of peace and quiet feel rewarding after a productive day.
Groooovy!!: Singing to plants helps them grow stronger… or so they say. Well, I guess they can be my secret public.
Home: It’s time to sleep.
Swap looks: …So bright, couldn’t it be cloudy today?
Home idle 1: I don’t usually need thick bedsheets or fabrics to sleep during this cold weather. Wrapping myself in my wings is enough to keep me warm.
Home idle 2: Jack gifted me a pair of hard guards for my ice skates. What a good timing, I’ve been planning on replacing my old ones.
Home idle 3: This cream Vil gave me feels very moisturising and light, he has quite a good eye for these products. Now… Should I go for a natural makeup again?
Home idle – Login: Let’s see… Tomorrow I have a shift at Mostro Lounge after Alchemy class, then I have club activities and then… Ah, it seems my schedule is full again.
Home idle – Groovy: Growing plants in Octavinelle is a hard task not fit for everyone, you have to use a lot of gardening-related spells to keep them alive.
Home tap 1: It’s essential to preen my feathers and apply natural oils to them every day. After all, wings are a vetureyík’s pride.
Home tap 2: The Pop Music Club was planning a surprise party for me, but apparently Kalim forgot I have a sharp hearing. I tried my best to act surprised today, although I fear acting is not my forte.
Home tap 3: I always braid my hair or put it into a messy bun before I go to sleep. Otherwise, it’d be all tangled when I wake up.
Home tap 4: It’s time for my daily violin practice. Maybe I could play a bit of cello after that.
Home tap 5: *phone notification* A goodnight message from Cater and… Oh? *smiles* I see, today’s is a special one.
Home Tap – Groovy: That stare… Let me guess, is it because of these fluffy hairpins or because I don’t normally expose my forehead?
Duo: [DEEVA]: Kalim, thank you for the birthday wishes. [KALIM]: No need to be so serious, Deeva! Now let’s get the party started!
Birthday Login Message: You came here just to wish me a happy birthday? That’s so thoughtful of you, I sincerely appreciate your efforts. And you brought a present as well… In that case, allow me to repay you for your troubles with a free drink. Yes, any drink you want. Don’t worry, I assure you Azul won’t complain about this new special discount.

Could I get, by any chance, something with Aragorn and sharing his coat.
I. Am. So. Cold. Star. Maybe I can get warm via your words 😭
-Hannah 🥶
Of course you can. Hopefully something in this is warming, darling (and hopefully you don't freeze to death <3)
❝𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐭𝐡❞ « one-shot »
Pairing : Aragorn X GN!Reader
Wordcount : 1.3k
TWs : None
Summary : In which you aren't just 'chilly' - something icy has seeped into your bones, enough to make you shiver on watch. Aragorn notices, and offers a solution.
Tumblr media
Sometime between the lovely dusky hues of sunset and the inky blackness of midnight, a chill has seeped into your bones. Even with your own cloak and your bedroll, there’s still some warmth missing. Something that’s letting ice settle into your bones. Staring up at Caradhras, you wonder if it’s the mountain's fault. You’re still a while off - but the malevolence of it can be felt even from here. And something that malevolent is also probably petty enough to send cold weather in the way of the Fellowship.
So here you are, stuck on watch duty and (perhaps) being cursed by a mountain to shiver. As a group you’ve agreed not to light a fire; stealth is paramount and the lasting marks it gives make the Fellowship too easy of a target. That decision had seemed so logical and reasonable to you only a few hours ago. Now, the reward of possibly not getting seen by enemies right now isn’t a great comfort or resolver to your issues. Still, you are only to be on watch for another hour.
The cold is sharp enough to keep you awake at least, and you gaze out into the blackness around you. Nothing stirs, except for the movement of the Fellowship around you. The gentle breathing in and out, the occasional shuffle of a bedroll while asleep. And then a louder movement and shifting of fabric.
It’s close enough that it’s probably a member of the Fellowship, so while you whip around to see what it is your hand only strays to your blade - it doesn’t wield it. Aragorn seems fairly thankful of that fact as you turn to face him, his hands not above his head but his palms open. Showing that he’s not a threat. “My apologies if I startled you.”
“There’s no need to apologise.” You relax, your handle letting go of the knife as you shuffle to face him more. “I’m just glad I didn’t hold a knife to your throat.”
“I trust you not to damage me.” There’s a small smile on his face, “And I would rather you put a dagger to strangers in the night than simply let foes walk in. Your dagger to my throat is much preferable to the dagger of an orcs.”
At his comment you allow yourself to laugh a little, and he joins you. “It almost sounds like you’re asking me to stab you.”
“When more of the Fellowship are awake I would be happy to spar with you, preferably not to first blood.”
“You’d be fine with sparring with me?”
“You’re a worthy opponent.” Aragorn has shifted himself slightly as the two of you have been talking, out of his bedroll and now simply sitting, looking up at the stars. “I imagine Boromir would be grateful for someone to show as an example to the young hobbits. Perhaps it will teach them the value of sword-fighting with their swords.”
This time you can grin as you respond, “I think the hobbits have done remarkably well already. Flipping enemies onto their back, who are over double their size.”
Aragorn laughs this time, making an effort for it to be quiet - but it is still rich, infectious. “I think I am still slightly sore from their antics.”
“The fine bedding of thin fabric and dirt is not helping?” Both of you have been travelling for long enough that beds are at risk of becoming a forgotten luxury, but even rangers can still tire of sleeping on this floor. Especially as it becomes cold enough to be firm, more like solid wood or rock than the ground. Aragorn lets out an appreciative hum at your words, before the conversation lulls between the two of you.
It is not an unpleasant or uncomfortable silence, and is in fact far from it. Aragorn has a quiet, unobtrusive way of making his presence known as he gazes up towards the stars. It’s comforting in a way, and you find it reassuring - not just in the sense a fellow human is beside you. There is something about the man that implies safety, a level of protection. Still, you don’t drop your gaze as you continue your watch - making sure that there is nothing watching the two of you in the shadows. Seconds pour into minutes, which begin to stack on top of each other before Aragorn speaks again.
“You’re cold.”
“Hm?” For some reason, you only making a questioning noise. You are cold (you’re fairly certain he’s just seen you shiver), but something in you refuses to immediately acknowledge it.
“Your cloak is thin, and not for the weather of Caradhras. Besides…” His gaze travels briefly over you.
So he has seen you shiver. Hopefully not too badly. Resisting the urge to pull your cloak closer to you, now that you’re talking the chill has started to make itself known again, you try to reassure him. “The weather is not yet too bad, nor am I freezing. I can survive the rest of the watch.”
“But I do not want to see you shiver through it.” Moving, Aragorn’s hands go to the clasp around his throat. “The chill is yet to affect me, take this.”
“I- I couldn’t.” Your words come out slightly higher than you tried, but you don’t want to accept the cloak. You don’t want him to chill either, and… it feels strangely intimate. “It won’t do us any good if both of us freeze.”
“It won’t do any good if you freeze either.” He points out, stopping to think. His hands still move to fully unclasp the cloak, but he doesn’t take it off when it gets looser. “Come closer.”
“You mean…” You’re thankful he’s not close enough to hear your heartbeat, or to feel the heat on your face.
“The cloak is big enough for both of us, for the most part.” His tone is still remarkably casual, before it becomes more serious. “Unless I have overstepped.”
There it is. The true invitation of if you want to come closer to him or not. And truthfully, he hasn’t.
Taking a quick breath, you move closer to the man - unsure of how much distance you should leave between the both of you. You inch closer, before eventually his arm loops around you with fabric - both enveloping you with the warmth of the cloak, and pulling you slightly closer to the ranger. He smiles, before asking, “Warmer?”
“Yes.” Your tone is only slightly begrudging, and it’s more to tease than anything. “Definitely.”
“I’m glad to be of service.” His tone is warm as well, and he stares at you for a second more before looking back up to the stars. “Please, move if you need to be more comfortable.”
From the little part of your legs that are touching, you can feel that he’s warmer than you. For a second you think about moving closer to him, but you’re already sharing a cloak. “Wouldn’t want to leech all of your heat.”
“It is not leeching if I am offering.” Gently, one of his hands rests upon yours. “If that is what you want.”
His body heat is not just what he’s offering. But, as you think for a second (hand slowly intertwining with his), you realise you don’t want to say not to either offer. Moving even more fractionally than before, you close the gap between the two of you - resting onto his shoulder. His arm adjusts the cloak briefly, pulling it more around you to shield you as well as he can from the elements.
This time, he doesn’t pull his hand from your shoulder.
A/N : Well, apologies to the oneshot I had planned on working on today. But I do very much like this one, and hopefully you guys all like it too! Have a lovely day/night
(Also I will happily take feedback on the title, if it will be offered.)

My recommendation if you are too lazy too cook potatoes and have an oven:
Take potatoes (and ideally some vegetables like carrots, parsnips or zucchini) and cut them into slices.
Dump into bowl with olive oil (just two to thre spoons or so, depending on how many potatoes you have; we're not making fries here, we're just wetting the taters a little so they bake well) or any other oil you can handle.
Dump in any herbs you can handle (I like things like thyme, rosemary and sage; paprika is also nice) and mix it.
Put the mix on a baking sheet lined with baking paper (less mess) and bake in oven until it looks good (around 30 mins on medium heat, but careful, the potatoes usually take longer than the other veggies).
Add salt.
Potatoes do have some protein, but I sometimes eat it with some pieces of cheese to add more protein. Fish also works well as a combination. Mayonnaise if you crave that fat.
It's low-effort, potatoes and carrots are usually cheap, and you cover a lot of ground in terms of nutrition. It's one of the recipes I use when I can't be assed to cook properly but still want to eat reasonably healthy.
Also, potatoes are one of the best digestible foods I can think of that also have really good nutrional value.
Also good, esp with bread: tuna salad with egg and cucumber. Just mix the three ingredients with mayo and salt, add a little bit of soy sauce and sesame if you are about that life. You can literally dump this on a piece of bread and eat it as a sandwhich if need be. Go light on the egg if you have problems with eggs like I do. Add some cherry tomatoes and/or fruits on the side for fun and profit.
Fellows, I humbly ask for any bland (emphasis on bland), easy-to-prepare foods that are rich in nutritonal value, relatively cheap and within a lower price range, and won't destroy my stomach lining. I'm trying to do the right thing for once and I don't want to fail at keeping my health in check. Any and all help is appreciated.

[ 21 QUESTIONS ] The effort to learn about others goes a long way! Just don’t overdo it.
there were a lot of gallant gentleman, and many spirited ladies all throughout the party grounds. each had their own charm, and many of them seemed confident in every piece of themselves. once such man stuck out to morgan, upon which the tactician began to note small details about him. his orange hair was slicked back, his shoulder back, and a polite smile for those who looked for him.
before the lad knew it, he was making his way to where the student stood in a rare moment of isolation from peers. "excuse me, there. you're the black eagles student ferdinand. i mean- i know because i've seen you in a few of my classes is all... anyway-" morgan paused for a minute, gathering himself and preparing a few questions in his mind.
"do you have any insecurities? how do you get to stand so confidently? is there some kinda ritual for that? i mean, i'm not really asking for myself, but you seem quite put together so and i thought i'd like to know how-" boy, he sure had been talking for quite a while. were these too many questions, was he breaking some kind of conversational taboo? it sorta felt like it when he looked at ferdinand's expression. right, just one more! "oh, hey, since it's valentine's day, what kind of traits are you seeking in a suitor?"
Morgan was it?
"Morgan." there was no need for an introduction, he already knew who this young man was. in fact, he had always exuded a sort of aptitude for studying the likes of which impressed Ferdinand deeply. it was rare to ever see him without a book in hand, spinning ink into intellect like his mind and heart were one. now, however, there was a different tint to the light that he emitted—particularly now that Morgan stood alongside edelgard as a match and partner for the night. "very pleased to speak to you at last! you and I both seem to have floated the same circles, but our boats have passed in the horizon."
his eyebrow piqued, noting that Morgan's penchant for the truth still rang clearly, as he began to probe Ferdinand with question after question.
"may I ask, are you interested in me and mine?" perched on his lips was a haughty grin, and sparks of pride for more reasons than one. "should we take a walk about the gardens?"
Ferdinand Von Aegir had no intention of chicanery. but after guiding Morgan under the stars, he began to wonder if, for better or for worse, this match would have been better than the one Morgan was set up with.
"to the first. no. I don't." not necessarily a lie. frankly, he tired of laying low in a grave, with broken bones and broken pride. he was not the kind of man to wallow in limbo.
"to the second, because I know my greatness will exceed me." Ferdinand raked his bangs, locks flipping triumphantly.
"to the third, you must say as you mean, and do as you say. a ritual I dedicate myself to is announcing my name and my intentions with enough transparency to use it as a looking glass. I am Ferdinand Von Aegir. and I certainly know my worth."
and to the last, he laughed. a full-bodied, effervescent laugh. "I need to be candid with you, before this proposition that I am about to make. edelgard is my eternal rival. but I do not find it untruthful to inquire."
"if I said you and yours, would you take me on a date instead of edelgard?"

A/N: I'm late, I'm late, I do have to apologize for that but Valentine's day kept me a little busy and I was unable to finish writing the first chapter! Here it is though! No more to say, enjoy it! By the way, I'll be fixing my masterlist pretty soon, it is a mess but I promise I'll manage to do it somehow!
Next Sunday will be when the second part comes out so I have an entire week to plan and rewrite since I want to make a few changes on the story!
Little prologue!
Warnings: Mentions of blood, magic, murdering and some babies being abandoned...Sorry :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The job wasn’t particularly difficult, but it had its challenges. Cleaning and organizing an entire building – three floors, all by yourself – was no small task. But despite the magnitude of the job, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement. After all, just the fact that you had work again was enough to bring you joy.
Honestly, they could have asked you to do the most mundane, exhausting task, and you still would have been grateful. As an adult, not worrying about money was a luxury you didn’t take lightly. And although it meant putting in hard work to leave the offices and bathrooms spotless, the effort seemed worth it.
“Be sure to pay extra attention to the bathrooms, the entrance, and the areas where clients might pass through during meetings,” James, the man who had interviewed you the day before, had said. “You can still clean the offices, of course, but those common areas are more important.”
“Got it!” you replied with a smile.
“We understand that it might be tough to clean everything in one day, so don’t rush. If you need help with anything, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or someone else if I’m unavailable,” he added reassuringly.
That relieved the anxiety you had about finishing everything. “Understood!”
“Also, if you come across a room with a closed door, it either means someone’s working inside or the person prefers privacy. Just avoid disturbing them.”
“Of course,” you agreed, still smiling.
“Any questions?” he asked.
“Well, I was just wondering where I can find the cleaning supplies. The document I received mentioned they’d be provided, but I didn’t bring any of my own.”
“Oh, no problem.” James gestured down the hall. “That small brown door next to the elevator leads to the changing room. Your uniform and cleaning supplies are there, so you can leave your personal things in the locker and get what you need.”
“Great, thank you!” you smiled again, adjusting the strap of your backpack.
“Of course! And if you want to take a break, there’s coffee in the meeting room on the first floor. Help yourself whenever you need,” James added as he made his way to the elevator.
“Thanks!” you called after him.
The building was eerily quiet as you walked to the changing room. Maybe most of the staff hadn’t arrived yet, or maybe the rooms were soundproof, but the only sound was the ticking of a clock at the end of the hall and the echo of your own footsteps.
Once you changed into your uniform, you felt a surge of motivation. You were determined to give your best to the people who had helped pull you out of a tough spot. With your cleaning cart in tow, you decided to start with the second floor, then move to the first, saving the third floor for last since it had no common spaces.
The music in your headphones made the work feel almost effortless, like a lazy Sunday spent cleaning at home. The rhythm of your favorite tunes turned each task into a kind of dance.
But when you reached the third floor, things started to feel… off.
Maybe it was the fading light outside, or the sterile, windowless hallway, but an unsettling chill crept over you. The walls were white, clinical even, making the space feel more like a science lab than an office. There were only a few offices, and at the far end, a door stood slightly ajar, casting a beam of light into the hallway.
The silence here felt unnervingly thick, and the lack of any decoration made the space feel empty, almost abandoned. A shiver ran down your spine.
For reasons you couldn’t explain, you felt compelled to remove one of your earphones. Something about the atmosphere made you uneasy.
You tried to brush it off. It’s just another hallway, just like the one upstairs, you told yourself. But something still felt wrong.
With your senses on high alert, you moved down the hall slowly, as though you were trying not to disturb anything. All the doors were closed, a relief after the chaos of cleaning fourteen offices and a meeting room on the floors above.
At the end of the hall, you reached the door that was slightly open, the one that seemed to invite you in. Just as you reached for the handle, you saw a large sign on the door: DO NOT ENTER. SCIENTISTS ONLY.
That gave you pause.
The rule was simple: don’t clean rooms with closed doors. But this door wasn’t entirely closed, just slightly ajar. Technically, it wasn’t off-limits, right?
A more cautious person might have asked a colleague for guidance, but you made the decision to enter anyway.
“Hello?” Your voice came out more hesitant than you expected. But there was no turning back now. You had to clean this room—no one had told you not to.
Inside, the sight before you was utterly unexpected:
Thirteen coffins.
You froze, your heart leaping into your throat. The sight was so surreal that for a moment, you thought your mind was playing tricks. The coffins were neatly arranged in a circle, their dark wood gleaming under the harsh fluorescent lights. Though they were all sealed, an unsettling sense of dread crept over you.
Was this some sort of prank? But there were no cameras, no signs of it being a joke. This was real.
The rest of the room was bare, except for the coffins, a table cluttered with papers, and a trash bin full of crumpled sheets and empty glass tubes. Everything seemed disorganized, as though the people who worked here had left in a rush.
You forced yourself to take a deep breath and try to remain calm. Slowly, you began clearing the papers from the table, though your mind raced with questions. What was this place? What was going on here?
As you tidied up, you noticed a thick, old book hidden under a pile of papers. The cover was worn and faded, and as you flipped it open, the pages revealed a strange, handwritten tale.
Reading wouldn't do any harm right? Maybe this gave you a clue of what was going on here.
Once upon a time, there was a village thrown into chaos by the discovery of witches. The people's beliefs were shaken by the sudden appearance of magic, and their safety seemed threatened when mysterious rituals began to take place in the darkness of night. As expected, the hunt to rid the village of this new danger began.
The stakes were set ablaze, and the nights grew less dark, now illuminated by the fires of extermination.
Innocent souls were sometimes sent to Hell, and sometimes, real witches were sacrificed. Trust among people evaporated. No one knew when it would all end. No one was safe. Your daughter, mother, or wife could be the next one burning at the stake.
Once upon a time, there was a witch who had foreseen the night when she might be hunted—the fateful night when a man would drag her from her small cabin.
Once upon a time, there was a witch who managed to escape. She would remember that night until her last breath—the haunting screams of women echoing through the streets, how men dragged them from the safety of their homes by their hair and feet as though they were mere animals, as though they were not even human.
She would never forget the cries of the little girls, desperately begging for mercy, trying to convince the crowd that they didn’t even know what magic was, until their final breath. The witch could still hear their anguished cries, as they were ripped from their mothers' arms, having been robbed of the only safety they had ever known in this cruel world.
She could still vividly recall gathering the few belongings she could carry before escaping through the back door. The foul stench of burning flesh filled her nostrils as soon as she stepped outside. The images of smoke, torches, blood, and fire haunted her mind every time she tried to sleep.
That night, she ran breathlessly into the forest, pushing herself to go as fast as she could, not caring how the branches scraped at her skin. She ran deep into the woods, searching for a place where no human would dare follow, a place where they would never think to look.
In the solitude between the trees and shadows, she built her home. The beginning was tough, but magic made it easier, and surviving was all that mattered.
Outside the forest, the village had fallen into such a state of ruin after the merciless hunt that its inhabitants had been forced to take drastic measures. Some didn’t want to have another child or simply couldn’t afford to feed another mouth. Others focused on rebuilding the village, on forgetting the murders committed in plain view, while some swore never to raise a child in such a cruel place.
Some mothers had died giving birth, others burned at the stake under the accusation of practicing black magic. Some fathers didn’t feel strong enough to raise another child after losing their beloved wives, and others were too afraid, thinking their newborn might also be a product of witchcraft. In the end, all of these unwanted children were abandoned, one by one, deep in the forest. Their cries reached the witch’s ears, but they were close enough for their families to hear too, haunting them as they walked away, embedding that sound in their memories forever.
The number thirteen is often seen as an omen of bad luck, but for the witch—the isolated woman who had escaped the hunt—it was a blessing. Not because of her magic, but because thirteen was the number of children she saved. Thirteen children who became her new, unconventional family.
It was sheer coincidence each time she found an abandoned baby in the woods. Guided by their cries, the witch would track down every one of them, expanding her home until it was large enough for all fourteen of them to live in.
Despite the strange circumstances of their formation, the children grew up with the love they’d been denied. The witch, taking on the role of mother, gave them the warmth and affection they would never have known if not for her. And the children, once orphans, thrived in the love of the woman who saved them.
But everything has an end. What had once been a peaceful, loving home eventually fell into the chaos that had destroyed the village long ago. The children—now young men—grew curious, as teenagers often do. The witch, though, wasn’t accustomed to such behavior. They wondered why they lived in the woods and why they couldn’t leave, but the witch always deflected their questions, keeping their impatience at bay.
Unfortunately, this could only go on for so long. As they entered their twenties, the fear of breaking the rules began to fade, and one afternoon, they stole the witch’s grimoire and cast a spell to put her into a deep sleep. During those hours, they sneaked out of the house and ventured into the village nearby.
That night would be the best night of their lives.
They explored the entire town, learning its history, the story of the witches who had once been hunted and burned. They began to understand why their mother had chosen to live in the woods, though they couldn’t quite grasp why they weren’t allowed to leave the forest, especially since they weren’t like her. The night took a turn for the adventurous when they discovered bars, filled with alcohol and girls. That night, all thirteen brothers experienced things that had been hidden from them for so long.
What was supposed to be a one-time thing soon became a routine. They all felt guilty for lying to the woman who had raised them, but the girls they met in the village had stolen their hearts. Love, passion, and lust overpowered their fear of the gentle witch who had cared for them all these years.
But mistakes are meant to be made, and one night, one of the brothers left the grimoire open on the table after they’d returned from their latest adventure. That night, after indulging in too much fun, they fell into a deep sleep, unaware that the witch had woken up before them.
It took a while for her to discover what they had done. At first, she couldn’t believe that the children she had saved from death would betray her so easily. Rage consumed her, and all she could see was red. How could they do this to her? How could they choose girls over the one person who had raised them, who had saved them from certain death? Blinded by fury, she opened her grimoire and began chanting dark rituals, curses that would destroy their loved ones and punish the girls who had stolen her children. But more than that, she sought to teach them a lesson—one that would seal their fate and turn them into living nightmares.
Though she knew she would regret it, deep down, she still loved them. But they needed to learn that betraying the one who saved them would never go unpunished.
Consumed by rage, the witch used her magic to hypnotize the girls and bring them to her home. She sat them down next to her sleeping sons, who had yet to wake. Once everyone was inside, she stepped outside, chanting a spell that would change the lives of her children forever.
“You, who betrayed the woman who loved you most, will now betray the ones who led you to the worst. Fate will twist, your lives will never end, and you’ll relive the nightmare of killing your love over and over again. Don’t take comfort in controlling it, the beast inside you will never be tamed, no matter how much you want it. The monster within will emerge the moment you encounter a woman who resembles the ones whose memories haunt you.”
Once upon a time, there were thirteen children who should have died—but never did.
Once upon a time, there were thirteen teenagers whose curiosity would lead them to their doom.
Once upon a time, there were thirteen men whose lives turned into eternal nightmares.
Once upon a time, there were thirteen monsters who would terrorize towns, cities, and entire nations.
Once upon a time, there were The Originals.
Once upon a time, there was Death.

"They were givin' it to anyone who couldn't work. I just survived the experiments." There was a pause, because he hadn't wanted to give Steve any more reasons to feel bad for him and the words 'couldn't work' could definitely give him those reasons. "'sides, America thought I died a hero and they didn't find you for decades," and letting the American people think he was dead had to have been intentional; why else let that legacy live on with praise when the reveal could've been devastating to those who cared?
Despite Steve's sigh, despite the tears, despite his best attempts at convincing him that Steve's determination to believe there was a person in here, somewhere, he still disagreed. Even while he pressed into that hand a little, because the touch felt so warm compared to the cold stillness inside, he couldn't agree.
He couldn't agree, but he could breathe, because weapons didn't weep. He could breathe, because Steve needed the stablity, even while the ash being spat from that ruin of a home in his throat was turning to embers in his brain, lighting it up with licks of annoyance, because the insistances that he was a human felt wrong when he barely felt like he had a body in that moment; when his brain couldn't connect himself to James Buchanan Barnes, that poor bastard ; when he couldn't find a time he had ever been 'enough' for God or the universe to take mercy on.
He couldn't figure out how he couldn't deserve any of this, because those priests had always taught that everything happened for a reason and he was far from running out of reasons.
But Steve said just the wrong thing, said that he was too chicken to act, and those embers found purchase in his thoughts.
"What if you hadn't been able to?" he asked about Steve not holding onto him, his tone layered with genuine curiosity and also that heat, because even if he could agree with any of what Steve had said, even if he believed that Steve could have done more, he wouldn't have wanted him to. It was too big of a risk for him to be worth it, because, "what if you'd lost your footin', Steve? Fallen down, too?" The curiosity was fading, the fires of his frustration rising, because James Buchanan Barnes had put so much effort and time into trying to keep Steve alive, had lectured and fought him so often, and Steve was talking about wasting all that effort.
"What if you'd landed wron'? Could've broken your neck. Could've lost a limb, too." His tone was too harsh, but still not louder than the thorns of that spiral burning in his brain that was determined to burn them both down. "Could've handed 'em a second asset," and that word was almost snarled out with pure, heavy hatred for them, for their weapon, for this situation, even for his own tone, because all Steve had done was try to help, try to convince him that all those lessons and all that training was wrong. It wasn't Steve's fault that he'd forgotten how to handle a weapon. It wasn't Steve's fault that he hadn't checked the safety.
He breathed, because that thought hurt him so those words had definitely hurt Steve. He breathed, because weapons didn't weep, but weapons fired rounds and he was too good of a shot. He breathed, because Steve's tears had made sense, and the sting surrounding his eyes didn't.
"You deserve better," he said, "y'just too stubborn to accept it."
And curse his voice, because it'd been so heated, so strong, but the tears in Steve's eyes had flashed through his brain; the thought that he shouldn't be this harsh hit too hard; his throat got a little too tight, a lump settling in a little too quickly; and his voice forgot that he was annoyed with Steve blaming himself, with Steve's determination to risk more than just his life to find what could've been a corpse.
Now that the mental fire had burned itself out, he couldn't look at Steve's face; every thought left behind was covered in a thick layer of guilt. It made his shoulders draw up, made him trying to shrink, made him consider backing away and getting out of the room or out of the building or out of Steve's life as if that could make up for all of this or could stop him from causing any other problems.
"I-… M'sorry."
"They saw more than a science experiment to pick you out of just about anyone else. There were others that had the body type to have the serum. There were other choices. You were a strike to the heart of America and they knew what they were doing in picking you up from the snow and ice and preserving you for over seventy years. They knew it would matter. You can't convince me it was just coincidence that Captain America's best friend was made as the Winter Soldier. Designed to fight against American ideals."
Steve shook his head looking to Bucky and feeling guilty suddenly for putting it in that light. For framing it in a way that Bucky was a piece of meat on a hook. He felt his heart clench a little and he turned to him with a sigh.
"You. don't. deserve. it. either." He punctuated each word and spoke to the heart of the moment, tears bubbling in his eyes as he thought of his best friend. Thought of all his suffering and pain.
"You never deserved any of this. I made you into a walking target by having you follow me into the belly of the beast," he said pressing a hand to Bucky's chest. "You are human. You hear me?"
He let the other soak in the words unsure if it would go through. Not really hearing the inner monologue that ran through the man's head but rather seeing the way the calculating look in his eye spoke volumes of how self depreciating he was.
"You are human. You are enough. You are James Buchanan Barnes and you've been my best friend for over a hundred years. You ain't getting rid of me yet. Whether I don't deserve it or not. I'm pretty sure I do deserve you."
"I have a right to be mad at myself. I've spent years trying to find danger and the one time it mattered and could have saved the only person I care about I was too chicken to stand at the opening of a train and hold onto what mattered."

During the 2008 recession, my aunt lost her job. Her, her partner, and my three cousins moved across the country to stay with us while they got back on their feet. My house turned from a family of four to a family of nine overnight, complete with three dogs and five cats between us.
It took a few years for them to get a place of their own, but after a few rentals and apartments, they now own a split level ranch in a town nearby. I’ve lost track of how many coworkers and friends have stayed with them when they were in a tight spot. A mother and son getting out of an abusive relationship, a divorcee trying to stay local for his kids while they work out a custody agreement, you name it. My aunt and uncle knew first hand what that kindness meant, and always find space for someone who needed it, the way my parents had for them.
That same aunt and uncle visited me in [redacted] city last year. They are prolific drinkers, so we spent most of the day bar hopping. As we wandered the city, any time we passed a homeless person, my uncle would pull out a fresh cigarette and ask them if they had a light. Regardless of if they had a lighter on hand or not, he offered them a few bucks in exchange, which he explained to me after was because he felt it would be easier for them to accept in exchange for a service, no matter how small.
I work for a company that produces a lot of fabric waste. Every few weeks, I bring two big black trash bags full of discarded material over to a woman who works down the hall. She distributes them to local churches, quilting clubs, and teachers who can use them for crafts. She’s currently in the process of working with our building to set up a recycling program for the smaller pieces of fabric that are harder to find use for.
One of my best friends gives monthly donations to four or five local organizations. She’s fortunate enough to have a tech job that gives her a good salary, and she knows that a recurring donation is more valuable to a non-profit because they can rely on that money month after month, and can plan ways to stretch that dollar for maximum impact. One of those organizations is a native plant trust, and once she’s out of her apartment complex and in a home with a yard, she has plans to convert it into a haven of local flora.
My partner works for a company that is working to help regulate crypto and hold the current bad actors in the space accountable for their actions. We unfortunately live in a time where technology develops far too fast for bureaucracy to keep up with, but just because people use a technology for ill gain doesn’t mean the technology itself is bad. The blockchain is something that she finds fascinating and powerful, and she is using her degree and her expertise to turn it into a tool for good.
I knew someone who always had a bag of treats in their purse, on the odd chance they came across a stray cat or dog, they had something to offer them.
I follow artists who post about every local election they know of, because they know their platform gives them more reach than the average person, and that they can leverage that platform to encourage people to vote in elections that get less attention, but in many ways have more impact on the direction our country is going to go.
All of this to say, there’s more than one way to do good in the world. Social media leads us to believe that the loudest, the most vocal, the most prolific poster is the most virtuous, but they are only a piece of the puzzle. (And if virtue for virtues sake is your end goal, you’ve already lost, but that’s a different post). Community is built of people leveraging their privileges to help those without them. We need people doing all of those things and more, because no individual can or should do all of it. You would be stretched too thin, your efforts valiant, but less effective in your ambition.
None of this is to encourage inaction. Identify your unique strengths, skills, and privileges, and put them to use. Determine what causes are important to you, and commit to doing what you can to help them. Collective action is how change is made, but don’t forget that we need diversity in actions taken.

i saw mommy kissing santa claus — fushiguro toji
Tumblr media
“Mom, I saw you kissing Santa Claus last night.” You froze, the coffee cup halfway to your lips as your cheeks turned a warm shade of red. Your husband Toji, on the other hand, lowered his mug, his sharp green eyes sparkling with mischief. He looked at you, one brow raised, fighting the grin threatening to spread across his face. “Oh, really, kid?” Toji said, leaning back casually. “Mommy here was kissing Santa Claus, huh?” You stammered, caught off guard. “W-well, Megumi, I think maybe you were dreaming—" “Nope!” Megumi insisted, crossing his little arms over his chest. “I saw it, mom. You were right by the tree!”

YOU ALWAYS ADORED CHRISTMAS. Even as a child, the magic of the holiday season was something your mother and father made sure to bring alive for you.
They worked tirelessly to fill each moment with joy, whether it was the way the house glowed with lights or how the scent of fresh-baked cookies lingered in the air.
Your favorite memories were wrapped in those small, meaningful traditions—sipping hot chocolate while the snow fell softly outside, unwrapping presents by the fire, and gathering together to share stories and laughter. It wasn’t about the gifts or the grandeur, but the warmth of family and the sense of belonging.
Now that you had a family of your own, you were determined to recreate that magic, to pass down those same feelings of joy and love to the people you held closest to your heart. Fushiguro Toji wasn’t raised with those kinds of traditions.
For him, the holidays were often just another day. Especially when he lived with his family and even after that. There was no desire for a fuss, no fanfare. But when it came to you, he was more than willing to step out of his comfort zone.
Toji might not have admitted it outright, but seeing how much the holidays meant to you made it easy for him to get involved. Whether it was wrestling with tangled strings of lights or holding your hand while you browsed for the perfect tree, he found himself drawn into the excitement. It was a quiet kind of joy for him, watching your face light up with happiness as you brought the season to life.
When your beloved Megumi came along, the holidays became even more special. Toji was quick to embrace his role, even if it meant helping you with putting out the tree or helping to bake cookies that somehow ended up burnt half the time.
He didn’t care if it was messy or chaotic—seeing the laughter, the wide-eyed wonder, and the unfiltered happiness of his family made every effort worth it.
What surprised him most was how much he’s slowly come to love those traditions, too. They weren’t just holidays anymore; they were the foundation of memories he never knew he needed.
He started to look forward to the little things, like staying up late with you to wrap presents or watching Megumi to try to stay awake for Santa, only to fall asleep halfway through their schemes.
Each holiday became another chance to build something new together, a season filled with traditions that were uniquely yours. Toji might have started off doing it for you, but somewhere along the way, he realized he was doing it for himself, too.
After all, your beautiful family meant everything to him, it’s now his safe zone—and these moments were proof that he finally had one worth celebrating.
So on this bright Christmas morning, your comely house was tenderly wrapped in a soft, magical stillness. The gentle hum of the house’s heater and the occasional crackle from the fireplace your husband had set up added to the warmth of the room.
The Christmas tree glowed with colorful lights, their reflections dancing on the ornaments and the neatly wrapped presents beneath. The faint scent of cinnamon and pine hung in the air, blending with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
Young and bright four year old Fushiguro Megumi shuffled into the living room, his favorite blanket dragging behind him like a cape. His small, sleepy frame was bundled in his fuzzy pajamas, the ones with tiny snowflakes printed all over.
His dark charcoal hair was a tousled mess, sticking out in every direction as if he’d been wrestling with his dreams. He paused near the doorway, rubbing his blue–green eyes, and blinked at the cozy scene before him.
There you were, curled up on the couch with Toji, both of you cradling steaming mugs of coffee. Toji was dressed in his usual casual sweatpants and a loose T-shirt, one arm draped lazily along the back of the couch, the other holding his mug. He looked relaxed, his sharp green eyes softened with a rare, unguarded warmth.
You were tucked into his side, your legs curled beneath you, wearing an oversized Christmas special cardigan and your fuzzy faux fur slippers.
The two of you shared a quiet moment, sipping the coffee your husband brewed and exchanging conversation and content smiles as the early morning sunlight peeked through the curtains.
Megumi's sleepy gaze lit up as he took in the sight of the tree, its glowing lights illuminating the pile of presents waiting for him. His little mouth opened in a gasp, and he looked at the two of you with wide, sparkling blue–green orbs.
“It’s Christmas!” he announced, his voice still tinged with the rasp of sleep but filled with excitement. “It’s Christmas morning!”
You smiled, setting your mug on the coffee table and opening your arms to him. “Good morning, sweetheart. Merry Christmas.”
He didn’t need to be told twice. He toddled over, crawling onto the couch and nestling between you and Toji. Toji chuckled, ruffling Megumi’s messy hair affectionately. “Morning, kid. Looks like Santa came through for you this time around, huh?”
Megumi nodded eagerly, his blue–green eyes darting back to the presents under the tree. “Can I open them now?” he asked, his voice filled with hopeful anticipation.
“Not even a good morning first?” Toji teased, arching an eyebrow. But the playful tone in his voice made Megumi giggle. “Too excited, you are.”
“Good morning, Dad.” Megumi said, grinning as he leaned against you. “Good morning, Mom.”
Your heart swelled at the sight of him, his excitement so pure and unfiltered. You kissed the top of his little head, wrapping an arm around him as Toji stood and stretched, walking over to grab the digital camera.
“All right.” Toji said with a smirk, motioning to the tree. “Let’s see what Santa left for you, kid.”
With a delighted squeal, Fushiguro Megumi scrambled off the couch and ran toward the presents, his blanket forgotten on the floor in his excitement.
You and Toji shared a tender glance, his usual smirk softening into a genuine, warm smile. You shake your head, looking at him with much contentment.
He walked back to you, settling beside you on the couch and slipping his hand into yours. His touch was steady, grounding, as the two of you watched Megumi dive headfirst into the pile of gifts.
His bright laughter filled the room, bright and melodic, blending perfectly with the soft crackle of the fireplace.
For a moment, everything was perfect—pure joy radiating from your son as he examined each box like it was a priceless treasure. Then, Megumi suddenly paused, his small frame still in the middle of the living room.
He turned slowly to face you both, his expression shifting into something unusually serious, his little brows furrowing in a way that was far too mature for his age. When he wasn’t smiling, you were sure your son was quite a young old man in that tiny body.
You blinked, puzzled, as Toji sat up straighter, his grip on your hand loosening. Before either of you could ask what was wrong, Megumi crossed his arms over his chest, his blanket forgotten entirely now, and declared with absolute certainty:
“Mom, I saw you kissing Santa Claus last night.”
You froze, the coffee cup halfway to your lips as your cheeks turned a warm shade of red. Your husband Toji, on the other hand, lowered his mug, his sharp green eyes sparkling with mischief. He looked at you, one brow raised, fighting the grin threatening to spread across his face.
“Oh, really, kid?” Toji said, leaning back casually. “Mommy here was kissing Santa Claus, huh?”
You stammered, caught off guard. “W-well, Megumi, I think maybe you were dreaming—"
“Nope!” Megumi insisted, crossing his little arms over his chest. “I saw it, mom. You were right by the tree!”
His little pout was so serious it almost made you laugh. You tried to hold your composure, his cute little glare gleaming at you with the most adorable aggression. He looked too much like Toji when he was like this. And that had made you even more adoring of him in this way.
Toji’s chuckle deepened as he leaned back on the couch, completely unbothered. “Cookies and milk are standard, kid.” he said, shrugging casually. “But Santa? He’s a special guest. Sometimes he deserves a little extra appreciation.”
Megumi tilted his head, his little face scrunching in thought. “Like a hug?” he asked, glancing back at the presents under the tree, though his curiosity still lingered.
“Sure, sure.” Toji said, smirking as he threw a glance your way. “Or something like that.”
You nudged him with your elbow, your cheeks heating up again. “Toji, that’s not something you should be jumping into.” you whispered under your breath, giving him a look that was equal parts exasperated and amused.
Toji just grinned and leaned in closer to you, his voice low so only you could hear. “What? I didn’t even mention the mistletoe.” His tone was full of playful mischief, and you rolled your eyes, trying to suppress a smile.
“Mom? Dad?” Megumi’s voice broke through, his tiny hands clutching a brightly wrapped box as he looked up at you both. “Can I open this one first?”
You gave a soft laugh, glad for the distraction. “Of course, sweetheart.” you said, smiling warmly at him.
Toji reached over, ruffling Megumi’s hair again as the boy plopped down in front of the tree. “Go for it, kid. Let’s see what Santa left you.”
“Hmm. Okay.” he finally muttered, turning his attention to the colorful boxes waiting for him.
Megumi’s attention shifted entirely to the gift in his hands, his little fingers working furiously to tear the wrapping paper. You let out a breath, glancing at Toji, who was still watching you with that infuriatingly smug look.  His hands wrapped against your shoulders.
He leaned closer, his voice barely above a whisper. “Kissing Santa, huh, babe?” he teased, leaning in close. “Got any more Christmas spirit for me?”
Your face burned as you playfully shoved him, your smile betraying you. “Shut up, Toji.” you whispered, though the giggle that escaped ruined the effect.
“Guess Santa’s the lucky one this year, don’t you think?” he murmured.
You bit your lip, shaking your head but unable to hide the smile that crept across your face. “You’re impossible.”
“Yeah, yeah.” he said, his smirk softening into something warmer as he looked at you. “But you love me anyway.”
“Merry Christmas, babe.” Toji murmured, stealing a quick kiss.
“Merry Christmas, love.” you whispered back, heart full and cheeks still warm.

TOJI SAID HE PLANNED EVERYTHING. And knowing how much you trusted your husband, you do believe him. He hasn’t ever failed you before, after all. Your husband wasn’t going to fail you now either. He said he’s going to make it happen and he will.
The night before Christmas was serene, the kind of quiet that wrapped around you like a warm blanket. The only sounds were the faint crackle of the fireplace and the occasional rustle of branches as the tree swayed slightly under the weight of its ornaments.
The vibrant living room glowed softly, bathed in the colorful twinkle of Christmas lights that reflected off the shiny ribbons and bows of some of the presents you had already wrapped and bought for Megumi and each other. All Toji has to do now is add the other ones you bought for Megumi.
You had just finished cleaning up after dinner, your feet padding lightly across the wooden floor as you straighten a few stray decorations. A hum of curiosity pulled you toward the living room, and when you peeked around the corner, you couldn’t hold back a small smile from appearing on your pinkish lips.
There he was— Fushiguro Toji, crouched by the tree, fully dressed in a Santa Claus suit. The red fabric clung to his massively broad frame, the white trim looking comically out of place against his rugged demeanor.
The bright red hat was askew on his head, barely covering his wild, dark hair, and the sight of him muttering multiple times under his breath while adjusting a precariously balanced present was nothing short of endearing.
“Damn this tree’s too small.” Toji grumbled, carefully shoving a particularly large box further under the branches. “How the hell does Santa Claus even do this without knocking everything over? Like, this is just an insane operation for a break in. Mission impossible even!”
You stifled a laugh, leaning against the doorway as you crossed your arms. “You’re really committing to this Santa Claus thing, huh?”
Toji glanced up sharply, his green eyes narrowing at you in mock irritation before softening into a lopsided smirk. You sighed, smiling as he enjoys taking in the sight of you like this. He has never thought he would ever have something as enjoyable as this life. And he always has you to thank for it.
“Caught me, babe.” he said, straightening up and dusting his hands off. “Santa Claus really had to work harder for this. And I gotta commit like he does, babe. I mean, this is harder than it looks, you know.”
You stepped into the room, your gaze sweeping over the scene. “You’re supposed to look jolly, not grumpy, love. Kids don’t want an angry Santa Claus.”
Toji snorted, tugging at the crooked hat and tossing it onto the couch. “You’re lucky I even agreed to wear this, babe.” he said, gesturing at the suit with a faint grimace. “This thing’s itchy as hell. How the hell did people wear this without having to scratch everywhere? Even my crotch feels itchy.”
You rolled your eyes, walking over to adjust one of the presents he’d just placed. “You’re not exactly selling the magic of Christmas, love.”
He leaned against the arm of the couch, his smirk turning sly. “Oh, I don’t know. I think I’m doing pretty good. The kid’s gonna love it in the morning. He’s going to have fun about Santa bringing in lotsssss of cool presents.”
You turned to face him, raising an eyebrow. “And what about me? Does Santa Claus have any surprises for me? I mean….I should get gifts too, right?”
Toji’s grin widened as he pushed off the couch and sauntered toward you, his voice dropping to a playful, sensual murmur. “Actually, yeah. Look up, babe.”
Your eyes followed his gaze, landing on the tiny sprig of mistletoe hanging above your heads. You let out a soft laugh, shaking your head. You looked at him with so much adoration, you couldn’t help it. He just made you feel giddy every single day.
“You’re impossible, you know that?”
He took another step closer, his voice low and teasing. “Maybe. But I’m also a hardworking Santa Claus. And Santa likes to get paid for his trouble. I’m sure this pretty lady in front of him will ease his troubles.”
You rolled your eyes playfully once more, your lips twitching as you fought back a smile. “Naughty Santa, aren’t you?” you muttered, leaning up just enough to close the gap between you. “What about Mrs. Claus?”
“Don’t have one.” He smiles down at you, his thumb pressing against your lips. “Would you wanna volunteer to be one, pretty woman?”
You laughed aloud at his words. “Shouldn’t you take me out to dinner first?”
“Well, if you’d let me, then I will.” He grins at you.
“Alright, alright. I’ll let you.”
“Good. Santa’s happy about that.”
“Well, we only want that, don’t we?” You smiled at him.
“Hm, very great for securing your kid a spot on my gift list.”
You giggled at him. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Yeah, but I’m your ridiculous, future Mrs. Claus.”
You laughed at his words again, which made him very happy. Your husband Toji happily pressed hands forward and found your waist as he met you halfway, his sly lips brushing against yours in a passionate kiss that was far too warm for such a chilly night.
You pushed deeper, kissing him back, pulling him closer to you. When you finally pulled back to take a breath, his grin was smug as it was shameless, his bright  green eyes gleaming with the endless joy that comes with having you as his beloved.
“Best payment I’ve ever gotten. By far.” he murmured, his voice soft but smug.
You laughed, swatting at his chest as you stepped away. “Go finish your job, Santa Claus. There’s still a tree that needs all the presents to set up for the good kid.”
He chuckled, watching you with a lingering smile as you walked away. “Yes, ma’am. But don’t think this is over.” he called after you, his tone full of promise.
“I look forward to it, Santa!”

OF COURSE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET ABOUT LAST NIGHT. You could still feel your legs sore and your throat full of his pleasurable bites. But that wasn’t important right now, even though, of course it felt really good. Santa was really good with blessings. But that wasn’t the point.
You could feel your cheeks turn redder and your ears more scarlet. You tried to calm yourself down as you continued to clear out stuff in the kitchen. The cookies were more important. You had guests coming over.
Of course, on the other side of the wall, the living room was alive with Megumi’s excited giggles and the joyful chaos of wrapping paper flying in every direction.  His precious little voice carried as he marveled at each gift, holding up toys and books like treasures.
You peeked at him from the kitchen, your heart swelling at how happy he was. Your son’s joys were the reason you always worked so hard at the prosecutor’s office. And he was, genuinely, the happiest little boy. And that made everything feel like it paid off.
You were in the middle of arranging cookies on a festive plate when you felt it: a pair of strong arms sliding around your waist, pulling you against a firm chest. The scent of pine and the faintest trace of cologne told you exactly who it was before he even spoke.
“Toji, love.” you started, a hint of exasperation in your voice. “What are you doing?”
“Mmm nothing.” he murmured against your ear, his voice rich and teasing. He grins slowly as he catches a peak of the hickeys from your side, hidden in the cardigan. “Just came to say thank you for, you know... last night.”
Your hands froze, the cookie you were holding slipping onto the counter as heat rushed to your cheeks. You were just trying to forget about it now but the images started to flood your head once more as your husband nibbles against your ear.
“Toji, please.” you hissed, glancing nervously toward the doorway to make sure Megumi was too busy with his presents to overhear. The last thing you need is to traumatize your little son.“Not now.”
But Fushiguro Toji, as always, was undeterred. He rested his chin on your shoulder, his lips grazing just close enough to your ear to make you shiver. He hums against your skin, bright eyes looking at you with wanton affection.
“What? I’m just saying Santa Claus didn’t just get a kiss under the mistletoe. I mean he enjoyed it really well too—”
You spin your head toward him, your bright eyes wide as you whisper with embarrassment. “Will you stop? Love, our son’s on the other side of the wall and—”
Toji only grinned, his hold on you tightening slightly as he leaned in closer. “Come on, sweetheart. Admit it. Santa Claus always deserves a little something extra for working so hard, don’t you think?”
“You sly fox of a husband.” you hissed, swatting at his arm as your cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red. “You are impossible. I swear, Toji.”
He let out a low, rumbling laugh, clearly reveling in your flustered state. “You’re cute when you’re all embarrassed like this, babe.” he teased, nuzzling the side of your neck in a way that made your heart skip. “But I wasn’t lying, you know. Best gift I’ve ever gotten.”
Your heart melted at his words, even as you tried to maintain your composure. “You’re lucky it’s Christmas, love.” you muttered, trying to sound stern but failing miserably as a small smile crept onto your face. “Otherwise, it’d be a different story.”
Toji shifted, leaning back just enough to study your beautiful expressions. His bright green eyes were soft, a rare tenderness shining in them that made your breath catch. The air of joy blossoming in his chest ever so fondly when he looks at you more.
“Lucky, huh?” he said, a hint of sincerity beneath the teasing. “Nah. I’m the luckiest guy every day I wake up to you. Every day, every minute, every second. Every day. For forever. I’m the luckiest guy on earth, babe.”
Your face burned hotter, and you turned back to the cookies to hide your expression from him. You could feel your heart making flips and jumps against the wall of your chest. He’s always so good at making you feel this way.
You were really going to be overwhelmed for all your life with how much he always makes you feel the universe with his love and tenderness. You were always going to be falling in love with this man over and over again like this. You sighed, admitting defeat to him.
“You’re ridiculous, love.” you mumbled, but the warmth blossoming in your chest betrayed your words. “Really….”
He couldn’t help but chuckled again, reaching around you to snag a cookie off the plate. You gasp as you try to stop him, but he lifts it up and you pout at him, knowing you can’t reach it. He snickers at you. You turn back and continue putting away the other cookies.
“That’s why you love me, babe.” Toji said, his voice smooth and teasing as he took another bite of the cookie, his smirk practically glowing with satisfaction.
Before you could muster a response, he leaned down, his lips brushing against your temple in a kiss so gentle it made your heart flutter. “Don’t work too hard. Megumi and I are waiting for you, okay? Still got some presents left for us to open.”
You watched him stroll back into the living room, his broad frame relaxed, his laughter already mingling with Megumi’s excited chatter. His voice carried back to you, warm and playful, as he greeted your son again, seamlessly joining him in exploring his new toys.
The sound of Megumi’s giggles and Toji’s deep chuckles filled the house, creating a melody that could warm even the coldest snowy, winter morning. It was what you wanted to wake up to every single day. It was all you could ever want for all of time.
You let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding, leaning back against the counter as a soft smile tugged at your lips. It was uncontrollable, this joy, this love that bubbled up in your chest. This was a love that had a place to go and blossom here in this place, in this family. In this life you have.
Ridiculous, you thought with a shake of your head. Toji was ridiculous. But he was also your, the most precious of men who made even the simplest moments unforgettable, who filled your life with laughter, warmth, and love.
And your precious Megumi. Your sweet, bright boy, was the perfect little light who completed the picture. Everything about life made sense when you met Toji and had Megumi together. Life began when you had this. And you knew he would agree with that sentiment.
You looked out at the scene before you, the two of them sprawled on the floor amid wrapping paper and toys, Megumi pointing animatedly at something as Toji nodded with exaggerated seriousness.
It was so small, so ordinary—and yet it was everything. It meant the world to you. No, you shook your head. It meant the universe to you. And you would never trade this for anything in the world.
You felt it all in that moment: gratitude, contentment, and a profound sense of love. How lucky you were, to have this life, this family. This was your everything. And no matter how many lifetimes you could dream of, you knew there would never be anything more beautiful than this.
“Babe, Megumi wants his mommy!” Toji’s voice called from the living room, pulling you from your thoughts.
You chuckled, pushing off the counter and heading toward the sound of your favorite voices. “Coming, love!”
As you stepped into the living room, Megumi beamed up at you, his hands full of his latest toy, while Toji looked over with a smirk that was both mischievous and affectionate. You settled in beside them, feeling their warmth wrap around you like a hug.
Life wasn’t just great to live—it was perfect.
And you wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

TOJI'S TAKING ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES HE CAN GET. But if you were being honest, so were you. Last night wasn't enough for you to get your fill. When your husband is someone like Toji, how could you?
The house was quiet now, save for the faint hum of the heater and the occasional creak of the floorboards as the winter wind pressed against the walls.
Megumi had been tucked into bed after a long, laughter-filled Christmas dinner, his tiny snores signaling that he was sound asleep. The evening had been perfect—filled with warmth, love, and memories you’d cherish forever.
Now, it was just the two of you.
Toji leaned against the doorframe of your bedroom, watching as you pulled off the festive sweater you'd worn all day. His gaze was heavy, but not with exhaustion—it was something else, something that made your skin tingle.
"You finally sitting still for once?" he teased, his voice low, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t suppress the grin that followed. "Maybe I am. Or maybe I was waiting for you to catch up."
That was all the invitation he needed. Toji crossed the room in a few long strides, his arms circling your waist as he pulled you close. His lips found yours almost immediately, hungry, but unhurried. He kissed you like he had all the time in the world, and for once, it felt like you did.
Your fingers slid into his hair, tugging lightly as he deepened the kiss. His hands roamed, tracing the curve of your waist, the small of your back, and eventually settling at your hips, holding you firmly against him. The heat between you both grew, sparking like the fire you’d left burning in the living room.
"I’ve been waiting all day for this, babe." he murmured against your lips, his voice rough and filled with need.
"Me too." you admitted, your breath hitching as his lips moved to your neck, leaving a trail of soft, teasing kisses that made your knees weak.
The world outside didn’t matter anymore. Not the snow piling up on the windowsill, not the mess of dishes waiting in the kitchen, and certainly not the clock ticking down the last hours of Christmas Day. All that mattered was the way Toji made you feel. You always feel so seen, loved, desired when it comes to your beloved husband.
He guided you toward the bed, his movements slow and deliberate as if savoring every second. The night was yours, a stolen moment of intimacy in the chaos of life.
And as his lips found yours again, you knew this was the best gift you could have asked for—time together, just the two of you, wrapped in the comfort of each other’s arms.
Toji’s arm slid right back around your neck, firm yet careful, pulling you closer as his lips claimed yours once more. The way he touched you sent shivers cascading down your spine, every sensation heightened by the quiet intimacy of the moment.
His grip was confident, possessive, and it made your pulse quicken as pleasure rippled through you like a rising tide. Each kiss, each graze of his hands against your skin, ignited something deep within you, leaving no room for anything else but the heat building between you.
He knew exactly how to unravel you, how to make you melt under his touch, and he didn’t hold back. He never holds back. Not when it was you he has to make love to. Making love to you was his church. It was his patronage. It was his repentance, it was his atonement. It was his salvation. His love for you was his salvation.
“Toji…” Your voice was barely a whisper, a mixture of breathlessness and yearning.
He pulled back just enough to meet your gaze, his eyes dark and intense, filled with something raw and unspoken. His thumb brushed gently along your jawline as his other arm stayed firmly around your neck, keeping you grounded in the moment.
“You doin' so good, babe.” he murmured, his voice rough and low, sending a fresh wave of heat through you.
The way he looked at you, the way he held you. Everything about it was overwhelming in the best way. Your body responded instinctively, arching into him as the pleasure coursed through every nerve, building higher with each kiss, each touch, each whispered word.
Time seemed to blur as he continued, his movements unhurried but deliberate, as though savoring every moment with you. And in that moment, nothing else mattered. This was all there was right now, just the two of you, lost in the intoxicating rhythm of each other.
Toji’s lips trailed down to your neck, his hot breath against your skin making you shiver. He knew exactly where to kiss, where to linger, drawing soft gasps from you as his hand caressed your side, sliding over the curves he loved to touch.
The pressure of his arm around your neck wasn’t rough, but good enough to make you feel the tension of his touch against your flesh. Everything about his touch, it was deliberate, possessive, reminding you that he wanted every inch of you, body and soul.
Your hands roamed over his shoulders, pulling him closer, urging him to keep going. The sensations rolled through you like waves, each one stronger than the last, your body responding to his every move. You could feel the heat of him against you, the tension between you building with every touch, every kiss.
“Toji…” you murmured again, your voice trembling with need.
“Hmm?” He didn’t stop, his lips finding that spot just below your ear that made your breath hitch. “Say it again, babe.” he whispered, his tone dark and teasing, sending a fresh jolt of desire through you.
Your fingers tightened in his hair, tugging gently, and the low chuckle that escaped his lips vibrated against your skin, sending shivers cascading down your spine. The sound was rich, deep, and filled with promise, igniting a fire inside you that grew with every passing second.
His lips trailed along your jawline, slow and deliberate, before finding the sensitive curve of your neck. He lingered there, pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses that made your breath hitch.
Your body press instinctively closer to him. The warmth of his mouth, the scrape of his teeth against your skin, left you trembling, a quiet gasp spilling from your lips.
His hand slid lower, the roughness of his palm contrasting deliciously against your soft skin. His touch was teasing at first, featherlight, exploring, testing your limits.
But then it grew bolder, more certain, as he found the places that made you quiver beneath him. Every brush of his fingertips sent sparks shooting through your body, the intensity of it building with each moment.
You arched into him, desperate for more, the ache between you growing unbearable. A soft moan escaped you, unbidden but unstoppable, and the sound seemed to ignite something in him.
He let out another low, satisfied laugh, his breath hot against your neck as he murmured, “You sound so good, baby. Don’t stop.”
The pleasure rolled through you like a tidal wave, crashing over every part of you until all you could feel was him. It was all his touch, his heat, his weight against you.
The room seemed to melt away, leaving only the two of you locked in this intimate dance, your bodies moving together in perfect, unspoken harmony.
Your skin grew slick with sweat, the heat between you almost unbearable but so, so good. Every movement, every touch, every kiss only pulled you deeper into him, the connection between you electric and all-consuming.
“Toji…” you whispered, your voice trembling with need, his name spilling from your lips like a prayer.
He lifted his head just enough to meet your gaze, his dark eyes smoldering with desire as he leaned in close.
“I’ve got you, babe. I got you.” he murmured, his voice rough and filled with raw emotion.
And with those words, he claimed your lips again, pouring every ounce of his passion into the kiss. His hand tangled in your hair, his other still exploring, holding you firmly against him as if he couldn’t bear to let you go.
Toji’s breath hitched as he stilled, buried deep inside you, his forehead pressed to yours. The heat of your body wrapped tightly around him, the soft, rhythmic flutter of your walls making him groan low in his throat.
It was almost too much for you, how big he was, how whole you feel when he fit you to the hilt. Everything about it the way you felt, the way your body seemed to pulse and cling to him, drawing him deeper into the moment. It all just felt too good.
His hands gripped your hips firmly, anchoring himself, trying to hold onto the frayed edges of his control. A thought flickered in his mind, unbidden and primal: Can I even last long with this?
The idea sent a fresh wave of heat coursing through him, his jaw clenching as he tried to steady his breathing. He didn’t need to move—didn’t need to thrust or grind or do anything but stay right where he was, utterly consumed by the way you felt around him.
The subtle contractions of your body, the way you tightened around him and the way he fluttered tightly against your walls, that was all enough to drive him mad. You were still as you were before, you were paradise in every sense of the word.
“Toji…love....oh—” you whispered, your voice a mix of need and wonder, your nails dragging lightly down his back. The sound of his name on your lips only made it harder for him to hold back.
“Shit, babe.” he murmured, his voice rough and strained. “You’re gonna kill me like this.”
He pressed his forehead harder against yours, his breath coming in uneven gasps as he tried to wrestle with the overwhelming pleasure. Your moans can only grow as he pushed in and out in a more passionate speed.
“I swear… I could come just like this, babe.” he admitted, his voice low and ragged. “The way you’re squeezing me so good, babe… you feel so damn good.”
The confession sent a shiver through you, your body responding instinctively, and he groaned again, his fingers digging into your hips as if to ground himself. He wanted to move, to chase that inevitable high.
But at the same time, he didn’t want to lose the sheer intensity of the moment—didn’t want to lose the way it felt to just be inside you, connected in every way. He still needed to last a little bit more, he wanted this moment to last.
He leaned in, his lips brushing yours as he murmured, “You’re perfect. You know that?” His voice was raw, filled with both reverence and desperation.
And as he stayed there, lost in the heat and intimacy, he wondered if he could ever get enough of this—of you. Every sensation was heightened, every second stretching into eternity, until nothing else existed but him.
The overwhelming pleasure coursing through you. In his arms, you felt completely unraveled, utterly cherished, and entirely his. The world outside faded completely—just the two of you, tangled together in the quiet intimacy of your shared space.
Toji’s movements grew more deliberate, his bruised lips finding your own again as he deepened the kiss, his arm around your neck keeping you anchored to him. His tongue wrestling against yours as he tried to thrust deeper inside your mouth, earning a groan from your throat.
The way he held you, the way he touched you—it wasn’t just desire; it was love, raw and unfiltered, pouring into every moment.
Your body trembled beneath him, overwhelmed by the waves of pleasure he brought you, and you clung to him, lost in the heat of the moment. Toji pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against yours as he caught his breath, his voice low and husky when he finally spoke.
“You’re mine, babe.” he whispered, the words heavy with emotion and promise.
His calloused hand brushing your cheek as his eyes met yours. And in that moment, you knew there was no place you’d rather be than here, with him, wrapped up in the intensity of his love.
"Always." You whispered back to him.
He felt satisfied with that as he pushed deeper into you.
You couldn't speak words anymore by the end of that.
The world was cold from the snowing echoes, but you were warm.
Warm in the pleasure of the husband you loved the most.

epilogue
The room was still bathed in the soft glow of the bedside lamp, your breathing finally steady after what had been a Christmas evening full of all sorts of intimacy and bright warm laughter.
Fushiguro Toji, ever the opportunist, propped himself up on one elbow, the smirk on his face practically devilish as his fingers began tracing patterns on your bare shoulder.
“You know, babe.” he started, his voice low and teasing, “I’m thinking Santa deserves a little overtime bonus for all his hard work tonight.”
You turned your head, arching a brow as you caught the glint in his eye. “Overtime? Didn’t we just finish the main shift? Both last night and tonight?”
“Oh, I’ve got plenty of energy left, babe.” he murmured, leaning in to nip playfully at your ear. “The question is… do you?”
You opened your mouth to reply, maybe to tease him back, but the sound of soft footsteps in the hallway made you both freeze. Your eyes darted toward the door, which creaked open just enough to reveal a mop of messy black hair and the outline of a sleepy little boy clutching his favorite stuffed animal.
“Mom? Dad?” Megumi’s voice was tiny, wobbling just enough to tug at your heartstrings. “I had a nightmare…”
Toji let out a low groan, his head dropping onto your shoulder as he muttered, “Of course you did, kid. Of course you did.”
“Shush!” you hissed, elbowing him lightly before sitting up and pulling the blanket around yourself. “Come here, sweetheart.” you said softly, patting the edge of the bed.
Megumi shuffled in, his little feet barely making a sound as he climbed up onto the bed and wriggled his way into the space between you and Toji. He immediately buried his face against your side, his stuffed animal squished between the two of you.
“What happened, bud?” you asked, stroking his charcoal hair gently.
“There was a big, scary monster…” Megumi mumbled, his voice muffled against your side. “It chased me, and it almost got me.”
You looked at your husband who sighed back at you. Toji pushed himself up onto one elbow, running a hand through his disheveled hair, looking towards his little son.
“A monster, huh?” he asked, his tone light but laced with mock seriousness. “Did it look like a giant turkey? ‘Cause I told you eating all that stuffing was a risky move.”
Megumi pulled his face away just long enough to glare at his dad, his little brow furrowed in unimpressed indignation. “No, Dad.” he said with a hint of exasperation. “It wasn’t a turkey. It was scary!”
“Scarier than me?” Toji teased, flexing his arm dramatically as if that would somehow settle the matter.
You shot him a look, biting back a laugh. “Toji, love. Please.” you warned softly, shaking your head.
“Okay, okay.” Toji relented, holding up his hands in mock surrender. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Megumi’s hair. “Listen, kid, no monsters are getting past me. You know that, right? They take one look at your old man and run for the hills.”
Megumi’s little body relaxed against you, his small hand clutching tightly at your shirt. “Promise?” he whispered.
Toji ruffled his hair. “Promise. Now get some sleep. You’ve got another day of playing with all those presents tomorrow, and I don’t want to hear any complaints about being too tired.”
Megumi let out a sleepy little hum of agreement, his breathing evening out as he drifted off within minutes. Toji flopped back onto his pillow with a long sigh, glancing at you out of the corner of his eye.
“So, what do you think? Nightmare slayer and round-two initiator all in one night? I’m a man of many talents.”
You smirked, leaning over to plant a quick kiss on his cheek. “You’re also a man with a very tired wife and a son snoring between us. Maybe tomorrow, Toji.”
Toji groaned dramatically, throwing an arm over his face. “Tomorrow? I’m not getting any younger over here.”
You rolled your eyes, stifling a laugh as you settled back down, pulling the blanket up over the three of you. “Goodnight, Santa.” you teased, nudging him lightly.
Toji huffed but couldn’t suppress the faint smile tugging at his lips as he turned to wrap an arm protectively over both you and Megumi. He looked at you both warmly.
“Yeah, yeah. Merry Christmas to me." he muttered, his voice soft and warm. And despite his earlier grumbling, you could feel the contentment radiating from him.
For Fushiguro Toji, there was no better gift than this—his family, safe and sound, wrapped in the warmth of a love he’d never stop cherishing. Life was great.

ㅤ "Mhm, flirting again?" A light tease, a gently caress of the angel's fingers through the other's head. It was feeling much softer from whatever… gunk the arachnid had him putting in his hair. It didn't smell bad, some of it was a lot thicker than the other. But overall, he didn't entirely hate it. From what he saw though, Angel did have some dry skin. Maybe he could look through the stores in Heaven and see if there was anything that would help the other. Just to give him a bit of relief. Honestly, with how often Angel probably has to shower, it doesn't surprise him that he had a little bit of skin issues going on. Michael would have probably set himself on fire if he did what Angel did for work.
Tumblr media
ㅤ "Here, sit on the edge of the tub for me." Turning away from the other he grabbed the stuff Angel indicated was body wash and then turned back around to him. There was a loofah, he had grabbed it when preparing everything, but he could probably get a lot further massaging it in with just his hands at the moment. Up until things got to personal, then he'd let Angel clean himself on his own. Just to give him some dignity and privacy with his more vulnerable parts. He might willingly wave that in front of all the camera's at work, but this was different. As the other had pointed out.
ㅤ Being that their height was quite extreme, Michael was literally about half of the sinner's height, he didn't need to crouch to reach what he wanted to. A bit of the body wash was poured into his hands and then Michael rubbed his palms together before placing them on Angel's neck. He started there, worked his way over toward the other's shoulders and gently started massaging the soap in.
ㅤ "I think you could be effortlessly pretty too, by the way, but the effort you do put in is noticeable too. It's good to make yourself feel good, but you should do it more for you rather than the people watching you."
Tumblr media
Michael did bring up a good point-- Angel more or less let the flirts fly free with everyone. It was how he talked, how he joked around, how he weaponized his words and protected himself. But, even still, Angel thought it was obvious that this was a little... different.
"I do." Angel admitted. His body shifted as Michael washed down him-- moving, contorting, ensuring Michael would never have to strain or reach too far. A hand on Michael's leg pulled him up just a hair more, but his cheek never left the archangel's body. "But, if y' think I'm showin' all this ta' everyone, you're crazy." Not flesh, but softness. Vulnerability. A willingness, hesitant as it was, to be open. Trust. No-- all that was a privilege given almost exclusively to Michael. No one else stayed up all night, waiting to collect him in their arms, waiting to care for him, to piece him together. No one else covered his mirror in stickers, cheesy as they could be. And no one else made Angel feel like he could just.... talk. Exist.
Tumblr media
"So you're tellin' me you're effortlessly gorgeous? Ain't even gotta' try?" A smirk curled his lip-- taking Michael's attempt at steering Angel's compliment back at him, and starting the volley back once again. Don't try with him, Michael-- he's stubborn to the core. "I'm jealous. Go wit'out proper fur care for a few days, n' I'm a frizzy mess."

tokyo revengers ⇢ YOU’RE TOO DRUNK TO RECOGNIZE YOUR BOYFRIEND
ft. manjiro “mikey” sano, ken “draken” ryuguji, keisuke baji, takashi mitsuya, rindou haitani, ran haitani & shuji hanma
warnings: alcohol and a very hammered reader. the boys are more responsible than you <3
Tumblr media
this is one of the rare occurrences wherein MIKEY actually shares his food. when you’ve finally given up on fighting him for the last bottle of alcohol, you start whining about your sudden hunger so he slides his plate of nachos over to you. he watches you eye it for a second before you drag your gaze up to him. “i have a boyfriend you know?” you tell him, your attempt to be menacing coming out pathetically as the attitude dripping from your tone is dampened by your slurred speech. mikey doesn’t need the club to be well lit. the strobe lights already illuminate your face enough for him to get a clear view of your glassy eyes and flushed cheeks. “i know,” he confirms with a tinge of exasperation, “because it’s me. mikey. your boyfriend.” he emphasizes his last words, his last effort to knock some sense into you but you only let out a cackle which catches him off guard. “nice try but mikey never shares his food.”
Tumblr media
“that’s enough.” DRAKEN snatches the last of your many drinks for the night before you can gulp it down. being the perceptive boyfriend he is, he can already hear the complaint that’s about to slip from your tongue so he’s quick to pull you by the wrist, up from your seat and out the door. “where are you taking me?” you ask as clearly as your drunken state can let you—not so much but enough for your boyfriend to understand. “home.” at his curt reply, you yank your hand from his grip with a strength that startles even toman’s former vice president. “what the hell are you doing?” draken hisses lest you make a scene in public. “i’m calling my boyfriend,” you warn him, “bet he can kick your ass.” “yeah? i’d like to see him try.” he dismisses your empty threat, reaching for you once more to guide you to the exit but upon hearing a few whispers from prying strangers who are clearly getting the wrong idea, he stops in his tracks and turns to no one in particular, no longer caring about whatever commotion he may cause as his voice booms over the loud music: “i’m the boyfriend!”
Tumblr media
“let me go!” you relentlessly thrash around, yelling out threats of calling your boyfriend, while BAJI—the boyfriend in question—pulls you into an empty alleyway to avoid any possible public humiliation for the both of you. “fuck,” he huffs out a breath, “when did you get this strong?” some time in the night, he’s tuned you out telling him off, on a sole mission to stop you from drinking more than you already have. and he’s relieved he managed to get you out of the bar—that is until he hears a weird noise coming from you. “wh-” baji doesn’t get the chance to utter a single word as you begin to throw up. in a panic, he hastily puts your hair up with his spare tie before rubbing soothing circles on your back. your hair looks real messy, he notes, but that’s the least of his worries. “you feeling better?” he checks on you after a while, only to be met by more retching, making him grumble to himself, “and i get an earful when i drink too much.”
Tumblr media
MITSUYA is helping you get on your feet—sweet boyfriend he is—but as soon as you find your footing, you give him a hefty shove. “i have a boyfriend, jackass!” you seethe, too drunk to recognize him, and all he can do is sigh as he regains his balance. “yes. me.” something clicks in your brain at his response and you squint your eyes to get a better look at him. “takashi?” “hi, love.” and just like that, you perk up, your mouth stretching into a wide grin. “taka,” you squeal, excitement coursing through your veins when you recognize your boyfriend, “hiiiii~” he laughs at the shift in your tone and takes the opportunity to slide an arm around your waist once more. “let’s get you home okay?” “mhm.” you wrap your arms around him and he lifts you with ease. mitsuya assumes you’re fast asleep until a few minutes later, you mumble something against his skin, “someone tried to flirt with me but i said no.” a chuckle bubbles past his lips as he adjusts his hold on you. “really?” “mhm,” you nod into his neck as you snuggle closer, “i only love you.” “i love you more.” “love you most,” you reply before soft snores fall from your lips and your breathing evens out.
Tumblr media
you’re rambling about RINDOU to rindou himself, going on and on about the reasons that made you fall in love with him. and while you’re occasionally interrupted by your hiccups, he patiently listens to your every word then he hears a “but.” the ways you describe him next are less flattering, less romantic—how he tries so hard to act indifferent to your cooing as if the tips of his ears don’t instantly turn red. or how he has a permanent scowl etched on his face. and other things you already tell him even when you’re sober. “he’s really lucky he doesn’t have any wrinkles yet,” you add with a giggle. “you’re really annoying when you’re drunk, you know that?” rindou deadpans. despite the lack of lighting in the club, he doesn’t miss the shock washing over you, your eyes getting mistier by the second. “what?” your voice comes out shaky and your bottom lip starts to wobble, making rindou release another groan. “for fuck’s sake.”
Tumblr media
in spite of your insistence to stay at the club, RAN easily managed to drag you to his car. this isn’t his first rodeo. as an older brother, he has had to deal with rindou when he was blackout drunk. “where are we going?” you mumble as you begin to stir in the passenger seat. “home.” “i wanna see ran.” your boyfriend throws you a quick glance—your eyes remain closed and the rest of your words are incomprehensible—before he focuses back on the road. amused by your drunken state, he plays along. “alright, we’re going to ran.” the stretch of silence that follows is cut short when you speak again, “i’m thirsty.” so ran makes a quick stop at a convenience store, coming back shortly with a bottle in hand. he unscrews the cap before he gives you the drink, “careful.” you take a big gulp, instantly grimacing at the taste and it elicits a snort from your boyfriend. “what is this?” “water.”
Tumblr media
“want more,” you slur. across from you, HANMA watches as you clumsily reach for the empty shot glasses on the table, flipping them upside down as if more alcohol will magically appear. he’s not going to lie—he finds it funny. entertaining, even. and if the circumstances were any different, he would’ve even encouraged this behavior. but he’s your boyfriend now and if there’s one thing he truly cares about, it’s you. drunk out of your wits, you don’t notice when hanma slides out of the booth until he’s soon presenting two more glasses to you. even though the contents are the same, he asks you to choose, “which one?” “hmm… that.” before you can get your hands on your drink, hanma intercepts and downs it in one go. you’re about to protest when he throws you over his shoulder and chugs the other drink out of your sight before heading for the exit. “let’s go.”
